The only thing on the Highlanders mind last Friday was HISTORY with a opportunity of becoming only the 3rd team in school history to go undefeated at 10-0 only the 2007 and 2011 teams could claim that. The only thing that stood in the way were the El Reno Indians at their place at Memorial stadium on senior night. It was a perfect fall night to close out the regular season with virtually no wind and a very calm night.

The game started with El Reno finding the end zone quickly and a 6-0 lead after yet another Walter Neil block on the extra point attempt and we have already lost count to how many this year has got to be 8 or so or almost every game this season which his streak actually dates back to last years play-offs where he had a block in every play off game except in week 2 against Collinsville.

The Indians also capitalized with recovering a on side kick right after the score but after a Mac stop the Highlanders dominated the rest of the entire game with 50 unanswered points before El Reno scored late one final time, bringing the final score to 50-14.

Before the night was over Big Mac did make history to go 10-0 for only the 3 time in school history and will set them up as District Champions and a first round match up with last years week one opponent in the Carl Albert Titans that game was a 2 point win and again with a Walter Neil block to make the difference in the game. Lets hope its not this close this year but quoting Coach Manning to the team "Carl Albert is Carl Albert" And this historic program has had a history with the Highlander's over the years. Cant wait to get started and its all this Friday night at 7 with the pregame at 6:30 join the broadcast team for all the action. Plus join the booster club in the parking lot early for a fan appreciation tail gate out front with great giveaways. free hot dogs and a raffle for a autographed helmet signed by the players. This will be a fun week to start the playoffs where the 32 in 5-A start with 16 and the defending State Champions have set their sights on nothing but Gold in December. Join the fun this week and see you at the game!
